Long Time....No See?

I'm Sorta Back?

Hey guys! It's Kate here, and I haven't been on in, what? A year? Holy cow! Anyways, I've still been very into dolls and photography and I haven't left the online world of AG. I have gotten an AGIG (American Girl Instagram) which is why I haven't been on YouTube too much.

There has been a lot going on in the world of my account, however! 

I did end up making a Coraline custom doll (my first custom, yeeeeee)! I hope to have a post up about how I made her and what I used, plus before and after pics!

I have been extremely active on AGIG for almost the past year so please! Feel free to check it out! 

If you've been checking out this blog for a while and reading the very few posts that I have, you'll know that I was greatly anticipating the grand opening of the new American Girl Place Scottsdale. I did end up going to that but sadly did not make a video or vlog. Sorry, folks. Anyways, I do host and go to many meet ups there so if you ever wanna see me you know where I'll be! I will try to get a post with pictures and details up soon, but for now, I have a link to a video that one of my friends made while she was there! 

Anyways, I'd like you to know that I have not abandoned you and that I will continue to update you via Instagram and this blog!

New Pleasant Company Book! 

P.S. This one looks different!

SO! I recently got Molly's Evergreen Dress (and if you want to see her looking dapper please comment) for Christmas and it came with a book! The book is Pleasant Company 1986 First Edition. I already had a "first edition" of this same book so I got it out to see if they were different. Annnnnnnnd.......THEY WERE!

So look at this book cover. Nothin different huh? Well when you look at this other one next to it you can pick out some very odd things about the first one! (Hint, look at Molly's face, the present colors, and the front of her bodice.)

OMG RIGHT?! The one on the left is the one I got for Christmas and the right one is one I already had! Look at these differences!

Now, if they both say Pleasant Company 1986 First Edition how do we know which one is truly older? Well, for those of you who are really into American Girl's history (such as myself) you will know that when AG first came out with Molly, Kirsten, and Samantha they each had only three books to their collections. Then, if you look at the backs of these books.....You will know.

Awwwww.....So cute!

Soooooo.....I wonder which is older.....I think it's the gifted one. Another obvious reason for this is that there are no buttons on her dress in the one that was a gift, and for those in the know, at first, Molly's dress didn't have buttons then, in 1994 they added buttons.

Personality: I really like to talk to people, especially about things I'm into. Though sometimes when I am sad I don't talk at all!

Name: Elizabeth "Betsy" Kazumba (MAG #40)

Purchased: March 2012 (for sister's birthday)

Personality: I'm a sporty, outdoors-y girl who loves to play soccer! I like to hang out with my BFF Kitty and collect dolls. 

Hobbies: soccer, gymnastics, ice skating, playing saxophone, hiking

Fun Fact: I LOVE FLOWERS!!!

Name: Layla Melody Kat (MAG #41)

Purchased: 2013 (with my own money)

Personality: I'm a funny, silly girl who likes all of the things that you people think girls are into. In other word I'm your stereotypical girl. But, sometimes, when I'm alone, I like to think up ideas on how to catch the Chopped Liver Guy! 

Hobbies: thinking of ideas on how to catch the chopped liver guy, playing the violin, trying out different outfits

Fun Fact: My hair is curly, so I am the CURLY MONSTER!!!!

Name: Kirsty Larson (AGOT #3)

Purchased: 2013 (yard sale)

Personality: I am a ridiculously funny, laugh out loud girl with lots of energy! But, the reason I have so much energy is because I sleep all of the time! LOL. (Laugh out loud. See?) 

Hobbies: Sleeping. sleeping, sleeping, sleeping, sleeping, *yawn* track, sleeping

Fun Fact: I have been obsessed with the Historical Character "Kirsten Larson" since I was three.

Name: Molly McIntire 

Purchased: 2013 (estate sale)

Personality: I am a hyper girl with lots of crazy ideas! I am the oldest girl of the PepperAltoids gang. 

Hobbies: riding bikes, roller skating, ice skating, going to the movies

Fun Fact: I was rescued from an estate sale by Kate and I have been given lots of love since then!

Name: Ruthie Smithens

Purchased: 2014 (American Girl Place)

Personality: I am (by far) the sweetest girl in the PepperAltoids gang. But also I am very shy. Sometimes I am too forgiving and my sisters have to stand up for me.

Hobbies: swimming, playing my guitar, walking the dogs

Fun Fact: Layla and I are really close friends and we like to dress the same. Sometimes when we go to the mall people can't tell us apart!

Name: Kaya'aton'my (or just Kaya)

Purchased: 2014 (American Girl Place)

Personality: When I first moved in I was shy with almost everybody, now I am super outgoing! At least with my sisters! I love nature and I get really mad when people disrespect it. 

Hobbies: ballet, pow-wow dancing

Fun Fact: I have the longest hair out of all of the PepperAltoids gang! 

Name: Kirsten Larson

Purchased: 2014 (estate sale)

Personality: I am a very self confident girl who loves animals! When I was first introduced to the PepperAltoids gang I was very shy but now I am confident in myself!

Hobbies: baking, doing her hair, playing with the dogs, playing with her beloved rag doll, Sari

Fun Fact: When I was first bought I was only wearing Samantha's cape, muff, and gaiters, my pantelettes, and Samantha's shoes! 

Name: Samantha Parkington

Purchased: 2014 (estate sale)

Personality: I am a very outgoing girl who sometimes gets herself into sticky situations by assuming the wrong things! I am the prettiest of the PepperAltoids gang and I have no problem telling them that! 

Hobbies: looking in the mirror, brushing her hair, playing with her doll, taking walks through the park

Fun Fact: when I first got bought my beautiful hair (*hair flip*) was one big knot! I was in tears! 

American Girl Estate Sale Finds!

Let's face it...American Girl stuff is expensive! So we try to find ways around the prices. Some ways are eBay, or the American Girl Benefit sale. But not all of those are reasonable. The benefit sale is in Wisconsin and not every body can go there but on eBay the prices are too high! I don't usually look on craigslist for AG stuff. So what do I do? I go to estate sales! I have been to three estate sales in search of AG stuff so far. A couple of them I had good luck but one was a total bust. But that's just what happens with estate sales. 

So on to the estate sales. The first one I went to had the most stuff. I got Molly, a bunch of Molly outfits (Molly's Afterschool outfit, Miss Victory, Plaid Jumper, etc.) I also got a bunch of Samantha outfits but no Samantha doll (Play Outfit, Meet Outfit, Holiday, etc.). A few Kirsten items were also bought. Such as her nightgown. Pictures below!

Second Estate Sale!!

This estate sale was not one of the good ones. the only thing I got was Samantha's Doll Clara.

Here she is! So pretty!

Well anyways you are probably asking: "Kate, why was it a total bust?" Well it wasn't very good because I could have gotten a Samantha doll! Now you're going: "But you have one already..." well, we're getting to that. The reason it was bad was because the Samantha doll I could have gotten was stolen by an old man. Yep. That's right an old man. Grrr. Well that's over so...

Third Estate Sale!!!!

Yay! This one was one of the good ones. Ok, so, I got Samantha and Kirsten here! Yay!
